Skills are part of Classes and additional skills that one can learn from skill tomes.
Each of the described skill of a school rquires at least 1 point Invested. Thus, an Aerotheurge mage will not learn from the Necromancer School of magic if he does not spend at least one skill point in this school. In contrast to the first Divinity: Original Sin, Skills don't scale with the points invested in a particular shool anymore. instead, the power of the Skills is based solely on the characters' levels, the basic attack damage from their equipped weapons and the amounts of appropriate Attribute Points invested.
Skill can be acquired by reading Skill Books which can either be found, bought from vendors or be crafted by combining an Empty Skill Book with a Skill Scroll.
